Even in death, I will follow you.
You told me that no soul in the entirety of the universe could harm you. Yet you were dead before you could hit the ground as you fell. My dear master, my treasured foolish master. Was there nothing you wished for more than your own death? Rather than thinking of a specific way to die, you should have been thinking of a specific way to live.
My blood spills around me, and I can feel my body as it grows numb. It doesn’t matter. Nothing matters. Not when you are gone.
I can hardly feel the tears as they fall from my eye. Something cold approaches. Did you feel this way too, Nnoitra-sama? Did you feel the numbness, the darkness? It reminds me of the pristine sands of Hueco Mundo, and the icy winds that kicked those granules up. Fighting to survive, scarcely a minute of rest. Is this really where you wanted to return to? The savage, blood-stained sea of sand?
If so, I will still follow you. I barely feel the pain anymore, I can hear nothing but the sounds of my own ragged breath. I was always slower than you, and I know you’re laughing at me even now. Slow even in death. I always make you wait for me.
I know you forgive me. I know it. Because no matter where your foolishness lead you, I always stood behind you. I gave my right eye for you, I thought of nothing but you. Even if the path you chose was the wrong one, it was still your path. It was the best choice simply because it was your choice.
Down a path of destruction, I followed you. Even as you wove through a pattern of self-destruction, I followed you. And in death, I follow you. No matter where you go, I will always be there at your side. Even as my final breath leaves me, it is yours.
