The things one can read in crimson eyes...
In a single glance, I can see everything. In your eyes, you hide nothing, you hold nothing back. You leave yourself entirely exposed, open and vulnerable. One look in my direction, and your eyes do all of the speaking for you. You do not need words to express you emotions… your desires.
You glance again, shimmering ruby set in tanned stone, every though visible in your eyes. You expose everything without relent, undaunted, without restraint. Whether you are aware of it or not, your expression tells all. I can see your desire for something, anything more than what we have. Crimson glimmers with passion, desire dancing in that single, momentary glance… and then your gaze shifts, as if to hide the embarrassment of your recent exposure in the mound of work to the front of you.
The things one can read in crimson eyes… even now they tell me exactly what they yearn for. It could be love, or companionship, or the growing desire for a warm body close to yours. I can see your despair when an act of betrayal or disappointment is tossed your way. I can see your delight when finally, it seems something went right after all. I can see longing and desire when crimson falls upon onyx.
Yet, deepest inside, buried under your apparent emotions, I can see your fear. Fear of once again losing something previous, fear of being denied or betrayed. Fear of being taken advantage of. Fear of losing, of being lost.
You may not realize what I can see in a single gaze, but it is all visible, apparent in every look. I only wish that I too could put that much power and expression into one glance.
