Even Zero can see that he is trying desperately to hide something.
There was something that lie hidden beneath crimson eyes.
Something hardly visible and indecipherable. Something in his gaze as it was directed at him. Something lying behind the rage and bloodlust. Something warmer, something kinder. Something that those crimson eyes did not want seen, something they would go through intense efforts to conceal.
But it did not go undetected. He would catch a glimpse of it from time to time. Something unearthing despite efforts to quiet it. Something gradually becoming more apparent as the hate slowly, so slowly, began to dissipate.
There was something buried deep underneath a crimson gaze.
Something piercing, something fierce. Something passionate. Something soft beneath a hardened glance. Something contradicting, something screaming to get out.
Something conflicting. Something unwanted. Something yearning. He could see it in his eyes. He could glimpse it if he tried.
Insults were said, fists were exchanged. Things were the same, but for the ever changing something that lay dormant.
You disgust me, were his words, holding malice, holding contempt. But then there was his gaze, holding something else.
The fighting was constant, the resentment clear. The hostility was shown in a single glance. There was so much to dislike, so much to hold in scorn.
But something was there, something lie in wait. Something in denial.
